# Sign up

Creating a Velocity account takes one step. There is no separate sign-up form: the first time you sign up, your account and wallet are created automatically. You can sign up with email, Google, or an external wallet (MetaMask, Phantom, Coinbase Wallet, OKX Wallet, and hundreds more via WalletConnect).

Whichever method you choose, Velocity gives your account an embedded wallet on first sign-up. The embedded wallet is what holds your USDC at the venues you trade on and signs your trades. The key is custodied by [Privy](https://privy.io) inside a TEE. We never see it.

## Email or Google

1. Open `velocitytrade.xyz/trade` and click **Sign up** in the top right.
2. In the **Log in or sign up** window, enter your email or pick **Google**.
3. For email, enter the code Privy sends you. For Google, confirm the account.

You're in. Your account and embedded wallet are created automatically.

## Wallet

1. Open `velocitytrade.xyz/trade` and click **Sign up**.
2. Choose **Continue with a wallet**.
3. Pick your wallet (MetaMask, Phantom, Coinbase Wallet, OKX Wallet, Rainbow, and more) or search the full list, then approve the connection.

Your external wallet is used to sign up. Velocity still creates an embedded wallet for you to trade with. You can fund the embedded wallet directly from your external wallet inside the deposit modal.

## Your address

After sign-up your embedded address is shown in the top right. Copy it from the avatar menu. This is the address tied to your fee history, points, and any active strategies.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://velocity-1.gitbook.io/velocity-docs/getting-started/connect-wallet.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
